The other day I received a bill from Kaiser dated on 05-12-2010. The bill date for it was 12-27-2012. It is a 2.5 year old bill for $33 back when I took a glucose test for my son when I was pregnant with him. Now, I don’t know about you, but that seems pretty ridiculous to me. How can a company function like that?

As much as I give Kaiser a hard time for their billing, they are very, very willing to work with their clients and many of them understand the not-so-friendly billing system. That being said, they are very willing and eager to help with any issues. They have a great system called “Medical Financial Assistance Program” that helps people with a lower income (or maybe just laid off recently) who need financial assistance with their large bills. This doesn’t cover the actual premiums every month, but it does help with a large bill from say the Emergency Room or a child’s delivery.
